| Dear Athlete- More than anything, I want your triathlon experience to be a success. First do the distance, then do it faster. Be organized, confident and enjoy the thrill of the race. I only coach what is within the realm of my own experience. That means that if you are fast and strong enough to try out for the Olympics-I can't help you. In fact, if you expect your coach to be a champion, I'm not for you either. If you are new to the sport, new to a particular distance or just starting to work on your speed, then I can help to you very much. Despite what you see in the magazines, triathletes come in all shapes, sizes and ages. A canned training plan probably won't fit you or your life very well. Ironplanner training plans are designed individually. It takes me a few days to create your plan, but it is worth it. It is easy to underestimate the organizational aspect of triathlon. Beginners are intimidated by the transition from one sport to the next. Iron-distance racing brings gear management and race preparation to new heights of complexity, so much so that I wrote a book on it. No matter the distance, you should feel well-prepared and organized come race day. You also need a race plan and together we will design a great one. My training plans incorporate real-race experiences like swimming and looking for the bouy in a chaotic environment, swimming without your goggles because someone kicked them off, dropping a water bottle off your bike, having to change a flat tire, bonking. You will learn to handle many scenarios as you work through your program and your confidence and your skills will show come race day. If you have a history of knee or other problems, I can develop a strength and training plan around your limitations I look forward to working with you. Please contact me if you have any questions. Happy racing, Ingrid Loos Miller |
Keep it simple. Find a comprehensive plan. Follow it. Race. Enjoy. |
